Robert L. Kanode
President and Chief Executive Officer
Robert Kanode Mr. Kanode previously served as senior consultant of product and account development for Valence prior to his appointment as president and chief executive officer. His extensive career includes over 13 years of experience in the battery industry including executive, senior management and technical consulting positions with BASF, IBM, United Technology, Varta Batteries AG and other technology corporations. He is an award winning leader in the worldwide introduction of new products, implementation of efficient manufacturing and fulfillment systems, and niche market sales expansion. Mr. Kanode has served on the board of directors for the Portable Rechargeable Battery Association and is a graduate of the Auburn University School of Engineering.
Ross A. Goolsby
Chief Financial Officer
Ross Goolsby Ross Goolsby is a seasoned professional with nearly 20 years of diverse experience in finance and information technology, including extensive planning and budgeting, internal controls and SEC reporting knowledge. Prior to joining Valence, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for publicly traded Healthtronics Inc., where he oversaw the day-to-day oversight of the finance and treasury departments. Previously, Goolsby held chief financial officer positions with Sigmatel, Inc., and Utiliserve, Inc. He began his career working in the Houston and Dallas offices of Ernst & Young. Goolsby earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Khoon Cheng (K.C.) Lim, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
Khoon Cheng (K.C.) Lim, Ph.D. K.C. Lim has more than 20 years of industrial research, development and technology transfer in the diverse fields of liquid crystal display, millimeter wave antenna and lithium-ion battery technologies. Prior to joining Valence, Dr. Lim co-founded and served in executive management roles with Pleiades Battery Manufacturer (Suzhou, China), Energy Sciences International (Suzhou, China) LLC, and Macro Energy-Tech Inc (USA, China). Additionally, Dr. Lim held positions with Hughes Research Laboratory and The Institute of Conducting Polymer and Organic Solids. He was a post doctoral fellow of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. Lim holds a Ph.D. in Physics from SUNY-Buffalo, a Master of Education degree from the University of Malaya, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Malaya. He is a member of the American Institute of Physics and the Electrochemical Society.


Roger Williams
General Counsel
Roger Williams As general counsel, Williams oversees all corporate legal procedures, as well as the legal activities pertaining to the licensing and systems businesses. Additionally, he oversees the management of Valence's extensive patent portfolio. Williams has been a practicing intellectual property attorney for 32 years, having practiced in both private and corporate positions. Prior to joining us, Williams was an attorney for the pharmaceutical company, G.D. Searle & Co., serving as chief patent counsel and associate general counsel from 1991 to 2001. Williams received his Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Western Illinois University. He is a member of the California and Indiana Bars.
Randall J. Adleman
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Randall Adleman An accomplished senior executive, Randy Adleman specializes in building and developing highly effective sales efforts. His superior track record of customer focused achievements has helped numerous global organizations exceed bookings and revenue targets. Designing and executing achievable implementation plans, Randy has consistently optimized critical distribution and channel strategies resulting in profitable growth and increased customer satisfaction. He has held various executive sales leadership roles including Vice President of Sales & Service at Ingersoll-Rand Energy Systems; Vice President of Americas Sales at Powerware, a global leader in the power quality industry; as well as Senior Vice President of Sales & Implementation Services at software maker Misys Healthcare. Randy holds an undergraduate degree from Colgate University and an MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
